Treading lightly in Miami

Going to Miami is like going to its on planet. We stayed in a luxury hotel, The Palms Hotel and Spa. Spot on service, clean hotel and grounds and amazing rooms. We picked it also because we didn’t want to be to near the strip but close enough to walk and have a good time. Fontainebleau Miami is also a well known luxury hotel that I have had many friends stay at and loved it. Both hotels are on the pricey side but well worth it if you like luxury.

One of the best things we liked about being in South Miami is the boardwalk. It is 7 miles tucked in between the hotels on the strip and Miami Beach. Bring water, sunscreen and your camera! Another beautiful feature is the beach of course. Who doesn’t like blue warm waters!

One thing I will strongly warn all about is watching your wallet and I don’t necessarily mean by pick pocketers although I would be careful. However, we were so excited to walk South Beach strip and get a drink or two and we did but definitely got upsold and had our bills changed and played off like we got the better deal after of course they took the receipt really quickly before we could question it. Two drinks and a small basket of chips and avocado was well over $100!

With that said, we stayed close after we did our site-seeing to the hotel. There was no surprises there. We still paid for it but we at least knew what the bill would be at the end. The hotel pool was perfect and clean and there is a great outdoor tiki hut bar with small foods (very yummy fish tacos) and the drinks are well made. The cabanas are a bit over priced for our liking $1000 for a day price tag at least when we were there and no one was in them.
