The Best of Savannah Georgia

I can’t say enough about Savannah GA! The place is everything you want it to be. We have stayed at the Perry Lane Hotel and the Marriot Riverfront. Walking into the Perry Lane Hotel you are greeted by the valet (really no choices in the area for parking) and when you check-in you are offered a free glass of champagne. They won me over right there! Perry Lane hotel’s breakfast was phenomenal; eggs benedict and freshly squeezed orange juice was spot on! This hotel is off the beaten bath but beautiful surroundings and still walkable but more of a fifteen minute walk to the fun areas of Savannah.

Marriot Riverfront, definitely a different vibe but still very clean and we stayed on the riverfront side so we had a beautiful view plus its fun to sit on the balcony watching the enormous container ships coming in and out of port. Dinner in the restaurant there was surprisingly good. We had a burger and salad to split and it hit the spot. The hotel is an easy walk to the riverfront area where there are many bars, restaurants and shops.

Best part you can walk around with your favorite drink in your hand!!

Must do’s in Savannah

1) Cemeteries - Bonaventure Cemetery is beautiful with famous residents. Colonial Park Cemetery - cemetery was established in 1789.

2) Tours - Cemetery tours, Ghost Tours, Historic Tours.

3) Parks - Forsyth Park - Occupies 30 acres in the historic district.

My top list of things to do in Savannahs waterfront.

1) Franklin Square is another fun area to visit. I will just say, even if you have dinner plans VISIT Vinnie Van GoGo’s and get one slice and a drink (wine for me). You will not regret it. My husband and I have yet to miss a visit there when we are in Savannah even visiting for one night. Its a MUST!

2) River Street has many restaurants and bars. The Tequila Company has fun and exciting and super yummy drinks. We only had appetizers but enjoyed them and gave us the filling to keep our drink on!

3) If you are looking to dress up a bit and have a nice seafood and steak dinner the Chart House was spot on. It is a chain but didn’t disappoint.
